Sail Race Management Software (Sail32)

The current version is PC based and requires a 32bit operating system (eg Win98SE is recomended minimum), differing sound signals are generated via the PC speaker system so a sound card is not required.

Interface equipment may be attached to an appropriate output port to control starting signals and external sound.

The setup screen facilitates different start sequences, and start time signal durations, plus fast/slow fleet split, points for DNS, DSQ etc. Different fleet start times based on these setup parameters are available. Several sequential fleet starts are possible with single and general recall functions.

Sail32 can predict race order from previous race data or lap times, prediction improves as more data becomes available. The facility is required to control a large handicap fleet, or for safety reasons to identify an overdue boat, or to support a protest hearing if a competitor misses a mark.

Boat lap times and corrected time calculation are completed by one touch control to the selected entrant. If many entrants complete the lap/finish and their order is not evident, finish times may be entered as each crosses the line which are then allocated to appropriate boat subsequently.

Functions include automatic race and series order calculation, post race to series, preview and print of both race and series. Several race series can operate concurrently. Copy entrants function obviates the need to input data for subsequent races.

A handicap database for club numbers is provided with boat recognition data including the extended PN handicaps for cruisers if required. PH numbers can be accomodated within the database.

Pursuit races are supported with facility for final handicap calculation to offset for the potential 59sec max handicap error inherent with standard pusuit race format.

The above description is deliberately brief, if you wish to register your interest and/or discuss features feel free to make contact.
